Is this the right time to think and dream about travel? Yes.
But when is the right time to plan and go travel?
This question doesn’t pertain to weather, the time of the year, or peak travel times. Everyone knows that.
In my expert opinion, the best time to travel is after quarantine. If you ask me why, here is the explanation:
Getting outside and feeling free is the first thing that all travelers are dreaming about. Some of the most visited countries on Earth were also some of the most devastated countries with the unexpected corona-virus outbreak. Prior to this pandemic, all these places were overcrowded with tourism. It went from one extreme to another. Recently, because they got hit hard by a sudden loss in tourism revenue, many countries are eager to open their doors after travel restrictions are lifted. This will be a slow and gradual rebound with many changes along the way. What is announced as the new norm today will continue to evolve and be tweeked to best meet travelers needs for security and health. Some people want to travel ASAP, others will likely start in a few months, others in half a year and others will wait until a vaccine comes out. This is everyone’s individual choice. One assumes the risks and should take precaution when going outside whether it is to work, shopping, or to a new destination.
1. Crowd Free Travel
There are many advantages of traveling after the quarantine to consider. but the most important one is, it gives us an opportunity to visit countries with low crowds. meaning you can maximize your time and there is no need to wait for hours to get into the Colosseum or walking on the Great Wall of China.
2. Deep Discounts
Another advantage is the deep discounted prices by many tour operators, hotels, and airlines to gain trust and encourage future travel norm the late summer and fall and beyond. These price cuts are on everything from air and ground transportation to lodging and excursions. So this is a unique opportunity to get a great deal. Prices are likely to be much higher than they used to be after this phase, so this is important to consider before making an informed, personal decision for yourself.
3. Cleanliness
For me, personally, the next big thing to consider is cleanliness. Destinations will be much more clean and pollution free. Things we are responsible for ourselves are taking precaution for our health. This includes wearing a mask, practicing social distancing, coughing into our arms, sanitizing and/or washing our hands often.
4. Excellent Customer Service
Lastly, it is likely that you can expect superior service. With destinations being less crowded, there are higher chances of receiving a higher quality customer service. Many travel industry employees have not been working during this pandemic and are eager to get back to the grind to follow their passion and make a living.
So less crowds , great discounts, cleanliness, health, and high quality service
are things to consider. No one has a magic ball to predict the future precisely, and no effort is 100% preventative. I highly recommend purchasing Cancel for any reason trip protection with any trip so you have options to cancel if you aren’t comfortable. As borders begin to open, consider these things before making your personal decision on when and where to travel next.
